Lake Cumberland Speedway set for 30th season opener on Saturday March 20th
(Practice cancelled for Saturday March 13th)

BURNSIDE, KY (March 12, 2010)—Due to cool and wet weather the past two Saturdays, officials with the Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY have announced that the 30th season opener will be on Saturday Afternoon March 20th.
Next Saturday March 20th, the Speedway will host their first event of the 2010 racing season with a program of Open Wheel Modifieds, Super Dirt Stocks, Chevettes and Front Wheel Drives as well as a test & tune for the Late Models.
The Gates will open at 12:00 p.m. EST with Hot Lapping slated for 4:00 p.m. EST. Due to cooler temperatures early in the season, the start times have been adjusted but will return to regularly scheduled times when the weather cooperates.
On Saturday March 20th, Adult Grandstand Admission will be $12.00 and Children 6-10 admitted for $5.00 while Children 5-under will be admitted Free. Pit Passes will be $30.00.
Fans and drivers will notice several improvements that have been made to the facility and racing surface for the 2010 racing season. McGowan Excavating, Inc. of Faubush, KY recently completed renovations on the 3/8th’s mile oval located south of Somerset, KY. Some of the improvements include a brand new racing surface of red clay dirt as well as no infield wall from turn one to turn four, and no race trailers will be permitted in the infield pit area as officials have expanded the outside pit parking to the areas located behind the Speedway office.
